direct to film printer

Direct to film printers work by printing  designs with a special  inkjet technology onto  the clear film sheet. It commences by the  user inputting a digital image  or design file into the printer software. The software  in the printer processes the image, then  sends it to  the machine, which uses microscopic  nozzles to spray  ink onto the  film in a specific pattern. The ink is dried rapidly on the film surface allowing you to produce an accurate and detailed copy of the original. The film may be used to transfer  the design onto screens for screen printing, plates for offset printing and other  surfaces once the printing is finished.

Direct to film inkjet printers are common in  graphic  arts  such as screen printing where precise and intricate designs are necessary. These printers come with  the advantage to have a quick  turnaround time, they are less expensive and print in  high resolution. The direct to film printer is  an efficient and certain way of printing since it eliminates the necessity of using film positives/negatives for traditional printers. How Direct to Film Printers Work

Although immediate  film  printers have several benefits, there  are some generalized issues you may encounter. One problem  is that the ink could smudge or bleed, if you dont have your printer setting adjusted  properly. This can lead to those  prints being fuzzy, stretched or they do not match  the quality that you are after. To avoid this problem users need to make sure that they have maintained their  printer properly and the ink cartridges are in good condition. Using quality Printer Consumables can also help in maintaining print quality.

Misregistration is another concern associated  with direct  to film  printing in which offset prints may not match from one print to the  next. This can happen when the film isn't loaded correctly, or if the printer  settings are not set appropriately. On problems with  alignment: for best results,  follow the instructions of your printer on how to load film and adjust settings.  Routine maintenance and calibration may help  to  avoid alignment issues  and  achieve a consistent print output.
